Green Cover Summer Field Day

Green Cover’s annual Soil Health Field Days are just around the corner! Enjoy a day full of learning and networking with like-minded producers, plus in-depth tours of our extensive cover crop test plots. Choose to attend on August 12th or 15th—the program is the same either day. As always, this is a free event, open to the public with a homecooked breakfast and lunch provided by Green Cover.

We’ll get things started with registration and breakfast at 8:00am. Then we’ll break up into groups and get out into the plots!

This year we’re shaking things up a bit and offering new rotations. Choose to attend talks or demonstrations on the following topics:

• Legumes and Broadleaves Cover Crop Tour 
• Cover Crop Mixes and Corn Interseeding Tour
• Growing Grasses for Livestock Forage
• Integrating Cover Crops into your Garden or Homestead
• Equipment Demonstration
• Hands-on Activity with in-field Soil Testing

At noon, we’ll break for a locally sourced and homecooked meal enjoyed in the shade of our new on-site event tent. Following lunch we’ll head back out to the field and then we’ll conclude at 2:30pm. After we conclude, choose to join for a bonus session at the Green Cover compost facilities for a conversation on biologicals.

Be sure to come prepared with a water bottle, hat and weather appropriate clothing. We’ll host the field day rain or shine.
