Living Soil is a 60-minute documentary produced by the Soil Health Institute that follows farmers, scientists, and policymakers across the United States as they work to restore and protect soil health through regenerative practices. The film spans diverse agricultural landscapes — from Oregon and California to the Midwest and the Chesapeake Bay — showcasing real farm stories centered on cover crops, no-till farming, and reducing synthetic inputs. Keith and Brian Berns of Green Cover Seed appear in the film, sharing how they've used cover crops on their Nebraska farm to fix nitrogen, build soil organic matter, and create a system they can pass on to future generations. Throughout, the film makes the case that soil health and food security are inseparable, and that the path forward lies in working with the biology beneath our feet.
