Recover & Rebuild

Fall Residue Biologicals Program

Turn last year's stalks into next year's fertility. Corn stalks, wheat straw, and bean stubble hold nitrogen, phosphorus, and a long list of other nutrients your crop already pulled from the ground this year. Left to break down on their own, much of that value is lost instead of returned: nitrogen volatilizes as ammonia, carbon burns off, and mobile nutrients oxidize and leach rather than being held in microbial biomass. The Recover & Rebuild Fall Residue Biologicals Program puts soil microbes to work on that residue right after harvest, cycling those nutrients into biological forms the next crop can use.

If you miss the fall application window, this is a great program to use in the spring as well.

Two products, one job

MetaGrow™ Decomposer does the breaking down; HyprCycle+ keeps the microbes fed through the winter.
One without the other is only half the program, so both go on every acre.

  • Thousands of active decomposers, ready to work the day they're applied.

A liquid soil inoculant carrying thousands of microbe species already active in decomposition metabolism rather than needing to adjust after application, so it starts breaking down cellulose and lignin right away, even in cold conditions. That includes 22 species of nitrogen-fixing microbes, more than a dozen phosphorus-solubilizing species, and dozens more that chelate potassium, calcium, magnesium, and other micronutrients, each functional group carrying populations of 1x10⁹ CFU per milliliter, plus fungal species most competing decomposer products leave out entirely. The microbes are grown from globally sourced cultures through a fully aerobic process, then selected and trained, epigenetically activated for specific functions, before being blended into broad-spectrum communities.

  • Food for the biology that breaks down your residue.

Elevate Ag's food source for that same biology: Elevate'd Fungi, a high-population, diverse fungal community that helps drive decomposition directly and feeds the rest of the microbes, paired with fermented fish for amino acids and organic nitrogen, a fast-acting carbon source for immediate microbial activity, and a slower-acting one that keeps everyone fed once soils cool off, a strategy called microbial priming, where an easy first bite of carbon wakes the biology up so it can start breaking down the tougher material already in the soil. Microbes need to eat just like livestock do, and HyprCycle+ is what keeps them working instead of going dormant before the job is finished.

Early Trial Results

In a 2024-2025 trial on irrigated corn stalks in Nebraska, Decomposer and HyprCycle+ were fall applied next to an untreated control strip. Spring soil tests showed a promising difference in available nutrients. These results are from one farm in one location, but they show the potential of this program. Additional trials are underway for fall 2026.

A note on phosphorus

Fungi do the heaviest lifting of converting locked-up soil phosphorus into a plant-available form, which is why building fungal populations is one of the core goals of this program. Because the program can release more phosphorus than most crops need at planting, some growers pull P out of their early fertility pass and monitor it through the season instead. That also gives mycorrhizal fungi room to colonize without competing against heavy starter P.

Better with a cover crop

Pair the program with a fall-planted cover crop mix and the biology gets a second food source. Liquid carbon root exudates from cereal rye and other cold-hardy species keep the system charged through the winter, so it is already running when soils warm up in the spring.

Tank mix per acre

  • MetaGrow™ Decomposer
    ½–2 gal at $14.00/gal
    $7–$28 per acre
  • HyprCycle+
    ½–1 gal at $15.50/gal
    $7.75–$15.50 per acre
Base program cost$15–$44 / acre

Application

Timing.
Apply after harvest while soil temperatures are above 50°F. If you're already applying a fall nitrogen pass, add it to the tank. The same trip cycles the residue, feeds the microbes, and helps hold the applied nitrogen. If you miss the fall application window, this is a great program to use in the spring as well.
Screen size.
80–100 mesh for full flow-through.
Nozzles.
Coarse droplet flat fan or stream tips.
Pressure.
30–50 PSI.
Tank order.
Water first, biology next, food last.
Water.
20 gal/ac minimum; 30+ gal/ac gives better coverage on heavy residue.
After mixing.
Spray within 24 hours.
Re-entry.
No re-entry or days-to-harvest restriction.
Storage.
Out of direct sun, under 100°F.

Accelerate your nutrient cycling and save on input costs

Recover & Rebuild feeds soil biology through the fall, cycles carbon and nutrients from residue back into the soil, builds organic matter over time, and strengthens the biological foundation the rest of your program builds on.
