Planting InstructionsSummer Release is best seeded using a no-till drill or other seeding device at a depth of 1/4" to 3/4" pending on soil conditions. Planting too deep usually results in more problems than planting too shallow. It can also be broadcast into areas with minimal plant competition such as a new plot or one where a seedbed has recently been prepared. Light incorporation or dragging can help with seed to soil contact but don't cover seeds with more than 3/4” of soil.
TimingSummer Release should be planted during the spring when the leaves on trees are almost fully formed or more precisely when the soil temperature at 2” deep at 9:00 AM is 60 degrees or warmer. There are lots of websites that report the current soil temperature daily for each county.
Summer Release has a minimum germination temp of 60 °F. Reference your average soil temperature to determine ideal planting time.

I love Growing Deer Tv. I want to make that clear, but I planted this summer release and spent 1000.00 dollars hoping to see sunflowers and soybeans. I have 3.5 acres of grain sorghum. Just a little disappointed after spending that much money. Going back to soybeans next year, but I love the release process.
To start with my expectations were not very high because my wife and I were not able to start our half acre food plot on top of a ridge until April.
After removing many trees and Flora, Rose, brush and undergrowth without any heavy equipment, we were finally able to spread the 75% of lime that was recommended on April 12.
On May 19, we used a small groundhog tiller on the back of our quad to scratch up the dirt and then we were finally able to broadcast our summer release and then used a yard roller to
Run over it the best we could to get a good seed to dirt contact. We did this just before a good rain which we received 1.5 inches that folded the next two days.
From what I am seeing on my camera, it appears to be growing very well.

I had never used summer release until this year, it was a wet spring and I didn't get it drilled until June10th, 6 days later it was coming up great. I have a great stand of all varieties in the mix,very pleased with the germination.
