Our Warm Season Soil Builder Mix includes over 14 different species designed for improving organic matter and controlling weeds. This diverse blend of legumes, grasses, brassicas, and broadleaves all work in synergy to build soil.

Legumes convert nitrogen in the atmosphere and make it available to other plants while prolific grassroots improve soil aggregation and water infiltration. Brassicas are excellent scavengers of nutrients unavailable to other plants. Broadleaves offer a deep taproot to break up compaction and attract beneficial insects with their flowers.

This combination leaves no room for weeds to grow, keeping your fields clear for your next crop. If you want to improve the quality of your soil, this mix if for you!

    What's in the Mix

    Planting Instructions

    Drill seed at 3/4" to 1" depth or broadcast and lightly incorporate when soil temperatures are 60 degrees or higher.

    Timing

    Wait to plant until after the last frost and soil temperatures are above 60 degrees and rising. Planting of these mixes should be completed by midsummer.

    When is the right time to plant?

    Warm Season Soil Builder has a minimum germination temp of 60 °F. Reference your average soil temperature to determine ideal planting time.

    Seeding Rate

    Plant 30 pounds per acre when seeding with a no-till drill or other planting implement and 45 pounds per acre when broadcasting.

    This is my first time using the green cover crop

    came This is my first time using the green cover crop . It came up really fast and good coverage. I used the soil treatment with some lime and plenty of fertilizer. After it was established i hit it with plot boast.

    Son hoping to help build better soil for food plot and garden area. Western Tennessee red clay. Will try for several years and see how well the mix helps out the soil conditions.

    So far so good

    So far so good. We planted about a month ago. Seeds seemed to have germinated well but still only about 2 inches high
