We’re Selling Certified Organic Seed!

By July 29, 2024No Comments

We are excited to announce that starting this fall (2024), Green Cover will begin selling and mixing certified organic seed!

For many years we have provided non-GMO and non-treated seed to customers across the country. As the needs of our customers evolve, we strive to be “Always Growing” and adapt our business to provide the highest quality and widest diversity of cover crop seed available. After lots of planning, paperwork, and preparation we are officially certified to handle organic seed and are excited to offer a growing line-up of organic cover crop seed.
Our team is actively working with certified organic seed growers all over the country to source some of the most popular cover crop species for our organic customers. Know that you’ll need certified organic seed this fall? Reach out and let us know what species and how much you’ll want so that we can be sure to secure that inventory for you now. While you’re talking to your sales rep, be sure to let them know what species you might be interested in purchasing in the future as well. Give us a call today! 402-469-6784
Many of our seed growers are using regenerative practices to grow seed, rendering it naturally inoculated with a robust microbial package from the plant and soil from which it was grown. That built in microbial package puts this type of seed at a huge advantage over conventionally grown seed. To learn more, check out the webinar we hosted with John Kempf as well as John’s article on seeds that are grown with regenerative practices.
In addition to responsibly sourced seed, we offer several OMRI approved inoculants and seed treatment products to ensure the best success for your cover crop. Outside of the OMRI approved list we have plenty of biological options that are approved by many certifiers. Most of our organic customers can use Bolster L, Warm Season Rhizo-fixer and MycoGreen NPK with no problems. Be sure to check with your certifier before applying a new product to your organic fields.
At this time, our seed handling capacity allows us to process order sizes for 10 acres or more. We understand that organic seed is important to growers of many different scales and sizes and we are excited to extend our product offerings to meet the needs of small scale growers in 2025. As we continue to roll out organics in our seed handling processes, we’d like to gauge demand for organic products in smaller quantities. If you’re interested, fill out this form to tell us what you’d like to see and we’ll notify you when it’s available for purchase!
The agricultural landscape is constantly changing and we’re committed to learning and growing with it, offering the highest quality products available on the market. Organic and regenerative practices pair very well together and we’re excited to start offering this new line of products to you. Becoming a certified organic seed handler is important to us so we can continue serving the regenerative ag community to the best of our ability.
